By submitting your written testimonial and any accompanying media you agree to the following:

  1. You certify that any photos and/or videos are yours and that you own the rights to distribute them as you see fit. You certify that these are not photos that do not belong to someone else and are not protected by any copyright.
  2. You grant permission to the University of California (including the UC Merced Office of International Affairs, the UC Merced Office of Communications, the University of California Education Abroad Program, and other University of California units) to reproduce any submitted text or images for the purposes of publicity, marketing, and communications. The text and/or images may appear in University catalogs, brochures, news releases, websites, general study abroad promotion and preparation materials, and other communications or study abroad-related materials.
Consider the following questions for your testimonial: Why did you choose your host destination? Did you research LGBTQ+ concerns in your host country before or after you applied to your program? What were your experiences in your host location? Did you experience positive or negative reactions to any aspect of your identity? Would you recommend your program and/or host country to other students that identify as LGBTQ+? Why or why not?

This option is for returnees or alumni who would rather submit a video testimonial or for those that documented LGBTQ+ events in their host country.
