For six decades, the University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) has been empowering students to broaden their horizons, embrace cultural diversity, and gain a global perspective. Among the thousands of UCEAP alumni are more than 1,000 UC Merced students and alumni and dozens of UC Merced faculty and staff. Last December, UCEAP celebrated its 60th anniversary of student exchange with a celebration in Bordeaux, France, the site of our first global campus! It was a joyful event, filled with emotions, memories, and the sharing of testimonials and experiences.
A Journey Through Time: Since its inception in the early 1960's, UCEAP has grown into one of the most esteemed study abroad programs in the world. Over the past 60 years, thousands of UC students have embarked on life-changing adventures, exploring new territories, and immersing themselves in different cultures. From studying ancient history amidst the ruins of Rome to engaging in scientific research in the heart of Osaka, UCEAP has offered a multitude of opportunities for academic and personal growth.
