
Q: Initially, what made you decide to study abroad? Why did you choose your programs?
A: I was talking to my friends who have graduated from UCM and they recommended that I take the opportunity to study abroad so I did. I chose Korea because it’s always been on my bucket list and being able to study over there was an amazing opportunity.
Q: What was the highlight of your study abroad experience?
A: All the friends I made and the fun adventures we had together.
Q: What was your greatest challenge abroad and how did you overcome it?
A: I think my greatest challenge was adapting to the weather and the time zone but slowly as time progressed I adapted.
Q: How did your coursework abroad compare to your courses at UC Merced?
A: The lectures are not very different from the ones I have taken at UC Merced, but there are less assignments.
Q: What did you gain from your study abroad experience?
A: I learned more about doing research and how to do the computation for my results.
Q: What advice do you have for students considering study abroad?
A: I say go for it. You may be scared at first because it’s a whole new country but the experience is definitely worth it and the friends you make will just make it even more fun.
Q: What do you wish you learned about studying abroad before you left for your program?
A: How much culture shock can change your experience in the beginning or when you land in a new country.
Q: Describe a typical day abroad.
A: Hot and Humid weather while walking to school and if i wasn’t going to school, I would go on adventures with my friends.
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why?
A: I would go to Italy, because I want experience the culture over there and it’s another place that has been on my bucket list so it would be a dream come true.
