Freeman-ASIA: Undergraduate Awards for Study in East Asia (≤$3,000 for summer, ≤$5,000 for semester, ≤ $7,000 for year)
Application and deadline information
Requirements:
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Have financial need
- Have good academic standing and 2.80 GPA
- Have one term remaining at UC Merced after study abroad program
- Apply to one of these countries: Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong & Macao), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam
- Apply to a program at least this long:
- Summer: 8 weeks
- Semester: 12 weeks
- Year: 24 weeks
- Have little or no experience in their host country
- Other requirements may apply

- To promote study within East Asia
