UCEAP Brazil Opportunities
1. Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro
Excellent single-campus university in a tropical setting. Full access to courses in all majors with Portuguese instruction. Limited offering of English-language instruction. Language study at all levels begins the program and is required throughout. EAP office on campus organizes activities and excursions. Coursework in certain fields only available in Portuguese | Portuguese or advanced university-level Spanish required to take coursework in Portuguese.
Academic fit for:
- Engineering: CSE, ENVE, ME, MSE, general engineering (all require prior Portuguese or Spanish study)
- Natural Sciences: BIOS, CHEM, ESS, MATH, PHYS, other sciences (all require prior Portuguese or Spanish study)
- SSHA: ANTH, COGS, CRES, ECON, ENG, GASP, HIST, MBE, PH, PHIL, POL S, PSY, SOC, other social sciences & humanities (ANTH, COGS, CRES, ECON, PH, PHIL, PSY require prior Portuguese or Spanish study)

2. Summer Seminar and Language, Pontifical Catholic Univ. of Rio de Janeiro
Instructed in English, the Brazilian Seminar offers insights into a broad range of topics relevant to contemporary Brazil. A class in Portuguese language instruction takes place at the same time to complete the package.

- SSHA: intensive Portuguese language
