Suggestions for applying for the UC Summer Abroad (UCSA)
Students who do not find a program that matches their needs in EAP may seek opportunities through UC summer abroad or travel study programs. Students who choose to pursue these programs should realize that UC Merced staff will not be experts on these options.

- Check the application deadlines
- Submit a UCSA Interest Form to the International Center (Kolligian Library 101)
- Check funding availability
- UC Merced Financial Aid is available for students receiving 6.0 semester units or 9.0 quarter units
- UC Berkeley Summer Session – Travel Study and UC Davis Summer Abroad typically offer sufficient units to make students eligible to receive financial aid
- For programs outside of Berkeley and Davis, students must make sure they receive at least 9.0 quarter units for financial aid eligibility
- Apply for summer financial aid by April 30
